THE PEMBINA TRAILS SCHOOL DIVISION PROJECT
Fiber.CA partnered with Pembina Trails School Division to assist in the design and implementation of
an innovative wireless fiber optic network, which spans 47km. This network now links all 34 of the
School Division sites to the Global Internet and a very high-speed Research & Education network. The
network is extremely fast, secure and very reliable. The network is scalable should there be growth, as
well as being very economical.
This network now provides the fundamental infrastructure, which supports many of the School Division’s initiatives, including… Unified Communications, VoIP, Video, Centralized Servers, Networked Applications, Remote Storage.
All of these initiatives have enhanced the students learning experience, and have increased the staff's productivity while at the same time, reducing ongoing costs. Crown Utilities provided the construction for this project, making this large
urban project possible. The project was completed on time, and on budget.
